Traditions and the Longest Day of My Life.

Today started bright and early. How does waking up at 5am sound to get in line for a bus at 6:30 am sound... Yeah and most of you complain of 8 am class. No sympathy for you guys. Well the reason for the early wake up call and 45 minutes bus ride was because today was the most important day of my DCP (Disney College Program). We had traditions, which is basically orientation for just working at Disney. Most people would think that was boring, but at Disney everything is fun. Our leaders were amazing! We watched old clips of Walt Disney talk and people from all around the globe talk about their experiences. Taking all of this in was a miracle and really showed my how big of a role I play in creating magic for people young and old. So after the typical sit in a room stare at a Power point for 3 hours was done we got to do something that  most people will never be able to say. Ready for it? I got to go under the Magic Kingdom. Yes, you read that right we went under ground. For ya'll (my Louisiana roommate is getting me to say it) who don't know this fun fact I will explain it more. The Magic Kingdom is 2 stories. The castle and the rides are actually on the 2nd story.. Crazy right?!? So what is the first story you may ask... Well it's a secret that I am not giving away, but if you Google it you will understand. Let me just tell you it is simply amazing. After a 5 hours of sitting and walking for traditions, my roommates decided it was time to hit up the parks (for free I should add) for the night. So after 7 hours at Epcot and Magic Kingdom and a late night trip to Walmart later here I sit blogging about my amazing experience. And trust me this is only the beginning. To all of you in college enjoy your classes while I spend the days lounging by the pool and hitting up the Disney World Parks.
Have a Magical Night!

  1. Deb and I took a Keys to the Kingdom Tour a few years back and it was really neat to see what goes on backstage. We really enjoyed. Just think that you'll have a whole different outlook on WDW when you return after your internship. Enjoy and learn every thing you can because you never know what you maybe able to use in your future jobs

  2. Yeah I totally agree with you! I already wish I could stay longer than January. I am pretty sure that I will come back next summer.
